Alicia Donohue

Hi!  I am Alicia Donohue and I'm thrilled to be a third grade teacher at JME!!  I'm originally from Long Island, NY and have been living in Mount Pleasant for the past 17 years.  My degrees include a B.A. from NYU in Dance, a BA from Hofstra University in Elementary Education and a MS from Queens College in Education.  Most recently, I've been trained in the Orton-Gillingham methodology for children with learning differences. My career has been diverse and satisfying.  I've been a teacher since I was 21!

I have raised three children of my own who are all in college.  Two are at the College of Charleston and my oldest is about to graduate from Clemson University. My husband and I have been married for 26 years now.

My goals are simple.  I wish to impart all the joys of life-long learning that I can into children and be a loving part of their childhood education.  I believe that children all learn differently and if a child can't learn the way he is taught, we must teach him the way he can learn.
